If I played favorites with my art, Cultura might be the favored piece. I enjoy 'slow looking' at this one, remembering the process of beginning it, and fully taking in the final result.

Thanks to my dad, I was raised with an awareness of my Mexican ancestry. Yet I only recently learned that my family can trace it to Guanajuato, México City, and the Yucatán Península. I'm pleased to add my own creation to the vast and colorful universe of Hispanic-inspired art.
